Our Thanksgiving Celebration

I know this is a little late, but I wanted to share our Thanksgiving celebration/feast we did for school. We got together with 2 other families and there were presentations about Indian tribes, a thanksgiving feast and bow and arrow practice as well. The kids have such a great time when we get together and I love being able to share this part of their learning experience with them!

Part of our feast was to have the kids set the table properly.

SnaggleTooth

I have to warn you, these pictures are hilarious! I don't know what it is, I must've shot them at some really weird angle (I've been doing that alot lately) because I just think Ella looks too funny! She finally lost her first tooth the day before Thanksgiving and was beyond excited. For days the poor thing was yanking and pulling on anything she could get her hands on in her mouth that she thought was remotely loose. Daddy finally thought it was time for this one to come out, so I let him do the honors and pull it. Ella was so proud and had to show everyone on Thanksgiving that she had lost her first tooth and that the tooth fairy came to visit her. Little did we know that she would end up losing her second tooth Thanksgiving night. The tooth fairy has been very busy around here. Her 2 bottom permanent teeth are coming in fast and she is already wiggling a third tooth. My adorable lil' snaggletooth.

Our 'other' babies, well....some of them

My dear hubby always promised me that when we moved to the country I could have as many animals as I wanted. Oh how he will regret those words! If you know me, then you know I'm a HUGE animal lover. If you didn't know that, then you really don't know me do you? Just a lil' something to ponder.
Anyway, we finally brought ol' faithful (aka Harley) to our new home. We are still waiting to bring our 3 labs (Annie, Maggie and Molly) here for fear they will run off. We also have 2 kitties. Sarafina (say sarafeeeeena) is Ella's cat. She is long haired, black and extremely sweet. All she wants is to be loved all the time. Ella's morning chores include her feeding Sarafina, and usually Biscuit. Biscuit is Brett's cat that we adopted from a lady in town. He is somewhat skittish, but slowly getting used to our family.
Most days you can find Ella outside 'terrorizing' the animals by giving them orders and telling them what to do I've already found Sarafina in 'time out' (are you reading this Aunt Tiffy???) and Harley has been tied to the freezer door. Poor dog. He just takes everything in stride.
Here are some pics of a typical morning around the houe right now....

Here's my favorite 4 legged man. My beloved Harley. He looks like he has a lazy eye in this pic. Not too sure what that's about because he doesn't look like that. Maybe it's the angle? I don't know.

Merry Christmas!

I'm back!

Things have been so busy and hectic trying to move in, unpack and get settled around the holidays. For everyone that wants to know if we are done...NO! Unfortunately life hasn't stood still for us. I'm still unpacking, still teaching school, we finally finished afternoon activities and have had holiday parties to attend and host. Hopefully after the holidays things will calm down and I'll be able to actually get something done. I can't wait to start decorating.

Here is a shot of our tree in the den and the mantle Michael decorated.
This is our tree in the foyer. Notice the bottom isn't decorated- this is because of Luke. He grabs everything off the trees! It looks like it's also been turned some, so I think you are getting a shot of the bad side...oops!

This is where I am with my craft room right now.

Here is a shot of one of our new couches. After 7 1/2 years of marriage, we finally bought new couches!
