Amazing People-Canine Corps

I'm usually blown away by the audacity of people, and the nerve they have to do some of the things they do. But every now and then I'll hear of someone doing something completely extraordinary, and I think this one is worth mentioning. This morning on the TODAY show they ran a segment on the Canine Corps. This is a couple that houses dogs of military personnel serving overseas. I have to, shamefully, admit that I never thought about our soldiers' pets. I didn't realize that many of them were having to take them to animal shelters most likely knowing that they wouldn't be there when they got back. Can you imagine? Dropping your little, or big, four legged friend off and knowing they would either possibly be adopted, or most likely euthanized and there is nothing you can do about it because you have been called to serve your country. If that doesn't tear at your heart, then I don't know what will. This couple has provided a CAGE FREE home for all of these dogs that belong to soldiers serving our country. I've attached a link if you would like to read more. I just thought this was worth mentioning. It really touched me. I think Michael is worried that our new home will become a rescue mission! He always told me I could have as many dogs as I wanted once we live in the country. Now he's worried I'm going to go to the Humane Society and bring home all of their animals. Truth be told, I would if I could! (wink, wink)
