I've been tagged!

My friend Jill over at Adair Family Moments tagged me to list 6 of my Holiday Quirks. Hmm, where should I begin? lol!

1. Photo Addict- It's obvious I love pictures, taking pictures and scrapbooking them later. The problem is that I am a photo junkie and a photo snob. I am that annoying person that takes a gazillion shots of the same thing (photo junkie) just to get that one good shot that will make it onto my scrapbook page (photo snob). I have seen the looks it gets me when I am in my element and snapping away as if I'm the paparazzi. However, I have also reaped tremendous rewards with some really priceless pictures of our kids. Of course, this may not be just a holiday quirk because I'm like this pretty much any time our family does anything- lol!

2. A Christmas Story- In my mind, it is never really Christmas time until I've seen A Christmas Story. While I absolutely LOVE Christmas Vacation (and can quite often relate to the Griswalds), there's just something about "you'll shoot your eye out!" that says Merry Christmas- don't ya think?

3. Large Family Get Togethers - This may not be so much of a quirk, but I look forward to the complete and utter chaos of each and every family get together during the holidays. Growing up, I can remember being at my grandparents house every year and there being people EVERYWHERE. It seemed like everywhere you turned, there was a cousin, an aunt, an uncle and a baby. We always have a baby in the family. I never knew how much of an impact my family had on me until I started one of my own. It's because of those fond memories playing football outside, opening presents together and all of the food, that I want a large family as well.

4. I shop early- For some reason, this seems to annoy alot of people, but I HAVE 3 KIDS!!! Have you ever taken 3 kids 5 and under shopping?!@?!? I try to shop year round for Christmas items. I always think I'm saving money, but then I forget what I bought and buy more and well.. you know. I usually get about 85% of my shopping done before Dec and then I take a break. The week before Christmas is usually a mad dash to try to finish my shopping. This year I wised up and made a list of everyone I have to buy for and what I've bought for them- much easier- who'd a thunk it? lol!

5.I'm messy-It's no surprise that when you come to our house right now, there is stuff everywhere. I don't just mean in a couple of places, I mean EVERYWHERE! This is mostly because we have outgrown our house, but add to that all of the Christmas decorations from the attic and you have an over-stuffed den with a small pathway to walk. I'm terrible at emptying the boxes and then moving them out of t he way. The irony in all of this is that I am actually a very organized person. Our home may look crazy to you, but I know where everything is. There is a rhyme and a reason for why things are where they are. With that being said, I can't wait to move so I can put everything in it's own spot and have it out of sight!

6. I'm corny- I love decorating the tree with the tv OFF and Christmas music ON. I love watching Christmas cartoons while snuggling on the couch with my kids. I sing Christmas carols in the car with my kids. We try to see who can spot Christmas lights first when we are in the car driving somewhere. I love shopping for our Christmas angels. I love the whole mushy gushy feeling I get this time of year when I am so thankful for the wonderful blessings in my life.

So, that's it. My 6 quirks. I now pass the reigns on to...

Cara at Sugar and Spice
Lesley at Prissy Pot's Pics
