How to find time to scrapbook/stamp

Good Morning! I thought for today's post that I would address one of the many questions I get asked about crafting. How do you find the time? It's not easy. I have a 31 yr old (yes that says 31, my hubby is like my other child! lol! just kidding!) 5 yr old, 3 yr old and 6 month old. As all of you moms know. our precious children take a lot of time to raise. While I adore absolutely every moment of it and am thankful that I can be a stay at home mom, I also need a little ME time now and then to keep me from going bonkers. That where this whole scrapbooking/stamping thing comes in. I've been scrapbooking for years now and love it and have fallen in love with stamping too. There is something therapeutic about it, at least for me anyway. I love to send someone a handmade card, or a special scrapbook that I've made. To me, it's so much better than buying something in a store. It's much more personal.
So, how do I find the time? (I know, you are thinking, get on with it woman!) I find snippets of time here and there and I also "bargain" for time with my hubby. Now that the kids are in school, I will most likely try to keep one morning as my time to work on new projects and finish old ones. This keeps me motivated to run all of my errands beforehand and to clean the house. It's kind of like a reward. I occassionally get a Saturday morning to craft when Michael takes Ella and Brett over to our new house to walk around the land. I enjoy these peaceful mornings but they are far and few between.
You can often find me working on projects while I'm cooking dinner, talking on the phone, or while the kids are busy playing. If you don't know me already, you have to understand that I am BIG at multi-tasking. So much so that I overdue it and have too many things going on at once.
Last but not least, to get some free mom time, I have reverted to the old 'put a movie in the dvd player'. While I don't like for my children to sit in front of the tv, there are days when I have resorted to this so I can get something done or just have some peace and quiet. For me, as a stay at home mom, it's important to feel like I have accomplished something throughout the day. Alot of times you can't see what us moms do. I feel like I run myself ragged and there is nothing to show for it. This is another reason that I try to make time to scrapbook/stamp. I always have something to show for it and there is a feeling of accomplishment and pride in knowing I created something.
So, how do YOU find time to scrapbook/stamp? I would love to hear your responses and know what you do to find some ME time. If there are any other questions you would like me to answer, please email me and I will address them here on my blog. If you are struggling to get 'caught up' with your scrapbooking, you might want to consider taking part in my Scrapbook in a Year class. We will meet 6 times and complete 12, 2 page 12x12 layouts. One for every month. Our first meeting is Sept 7 from 2-4. You still have time to register. (Deadline is Aug. 27th)
I hope you have a great day and remember to try to take a break and craft a little. The dishes will be there tomorrow. I promise!
