Family Update

Ok, last night was very interesting for me. As any mother of 3 knows- you do NOT have enough arm or anough lap space for all 3 kids. It's just scientifically impossible. The law of physics (or something like that) will just not allow it.
Flashback to last night.
It's 5:00 and I'm trying to finish the last day of my Esther bible study before I head off to church at 6. I call my dear hubby and he tells me that he doesn't think he's going to be home in time to keep the kids so I can go to church. Great- all that rushing to finish the last day. So, I call the other Acteens leader and let her know that I can't bring all 3 kids to church because at this point- ALL THREE KIDS ARE SICK- hubby isn't going to be home in time to keep them and I can't call my mother-in-law because she recently broke her arm.
At this point, I settle down for what I'm hoping will be a quiet evening. Yeah right, what was I thinking? 3 kids, all sick, and it's nighttime. I must've been delirious or something. We all know the evil sick monster shows it's ugly head at night. I tried to comfort Luke who woke up from his nap with a fever and seemed to be inconsolable. At that point, Ella and Brett thought they belonged in my lap as well. So the fighting ensued. Hair was flying, arms were thrashing and all I wanted to do was watch TV. I could be the spokesperson for Calgon- remember those commercials? Calgon take me away! Somehow, I settled them down and we patiently waited for daddy to come home, which by the way wasn't until 7:45.
There is a bright shining light in this story. Ellas was able to go back to school today, Brett seems to be getting better and Luke isn't running a fever anymore. Maybe last night's fever was just a fluke?!? (keeping my fingers crossed)
So this morning, I'm working on preparing cards for the card ministry at our church. Brett thought he'd help mommy out. I just had to take some pictures of him stamping with me. He had so much fun. Ya know, it really doesn't take much to entertain kids.
