Forgetful Friday

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Things have been extremely busy around here. We are getting ready to celebrate Luke's 1st birthday this Sunday. I cannot believe my little man is going to be a year old! He's been working really hard on getting this walking thing down so he can show off at his party. I just finished his party favors. So, forgetful Friday- what's this all about? Let's see...I was on the phone with my mom this morning and going about putting all my ingredients for tonights dinner in the crockpot. I'm so proud that we haven't eaten out this week (even though we are going to meet Michael for lunch today to eat pizza) and I was just about done getting everything in to the crockpot. Ella and Brett were minding me, some what, but Luke was crying wanting me to pick him up. He had wedged himself in between me and the counter. Are you picturing this? 2 kids running around, I'm trying to carry on a conversation on the phone, and a little one crying desperately for you to pick him up all while you are trying to get dinner prepared. I was adding my last thing and putting the lid on when it hit me....UH-OH!!! Major UH-OH! I did notice that the crockpot was simmering the more I put in it, but it wasn't until I tried to put the lid on it that I thought, hmm, the lid isn't supposed to fit like this. And then poof- major light bulb going off in my head, I realized that the crockpot liner was still sitting in my sink soaking from last night's meal. I told you, MAJOR UH-OH!!! I had to put the phone down, get out a BIG bowl (I had doubled the recipe) to pour it all in to and then clean the liner, clean the crockpot and get it all back in the crockpot the way it is supposed to be. WHEW- welcome to my chaotic life. You might be thinking, oh you poor thing, but let me reassure you that I am quite used to things like this happening. It's just another day in my gloriouis life! Jealous?
